JOB TITLE: Maintenance Manager  - Humberside Airport   DEPARTMENT:   Engineering

 

 

LINE MANAGER/DEPARTMENT HEAD: Martin Blaze – Engineering Director

 

 

SUMMARY OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for meeting the maintenance requirements of Eastern Airways whilst complying with Part 145.  Responsible for ensuring that the organisation accomplishes maintenance in accordance with Part 145 and ensuring that all maintenance is performed on time and in accordance with the applicable requirements, regulations and approved standards in order that all maintenance is released to service in a safe and compliant manner.  Assume the responsibilities of the Engineering Director in his absence.

 

 

PRINCIPAL TASK AREAS:

  • Satisfactory completion and certification of all work required by contracting operators/customers in accordance with the work specification (Work Order and approved MOE procedures)

  • Ensuring that the organisation’s procedures and standards are complied with when carrying out maintenance

  • Ensuring the competence of all personnel engaged in aircraft and component maintenance.  Carrying out initial and ongoing competency assessments within the department

  • Establishing a programme of training and continuation training using internal and / or external sources.  Managing such training requirements for all relevant staff.

  • Provide feedback to the Quality System about the services provided by contracted organisation and sub-contractors

  • Responding to quality deficiencies in the area of responsibility which arise from independent audits.  When applicable, accept ownership of non-compliances made by the organisation’s quality system and EASA to establish root cause and implement corrective actions to the satisfaction of the Head of Safety and Compliance Monitoring.

  • Uphold the Safety and Quality policy specified in this MOE, 145.A.65(a) and Human Factors issues

  • Developing and managing the production planning system appropriate to the amount and complexity of the maintenance scope of work

  • Maintain and uphold a Just Culture in the approved maintenance organisation

  • Ensuring that Part 145 Organisation Maintenance Manpower and Resources are maintained at the appropriate level to support the planned workload, maintaining and updating the maintenance manpower plan in accordance with 145.A.30(d), formally reviewing and documenting such every 3 months at a minimum

  • Ensure that all work scopes/work packs received from contracting CAMO’s are reviewed and planned, in a timely manner, to ensure all required work is carried out by Eastern Airways Maintenance Organisation

  • Liaise with, and report back to the Purchasing Department regarding issues concerning spares requirements, shortages and establishment of minimum stock levels

  • Maintain and manage the department budget

  • Reporting directly to the Accountable Manager all other matters concerning the Part 145 activity.
