Role Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Lean Leader will partner with the Central Lean Team and leverage cross functional relationships across the multiple Value Streams to define and execute operational strategies and tactics for breakthrough levels of continuous improvement in on-time deliveries, lead time reductions, process improvements, and manufacturing capabilities.

Essential Responsibilities:
* Responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.

* Facilitate Operational Excellence at all facilities, focused primarily on machine utilization and performance optimization. Guide CI Managers at manufacturing sites in the effective use of TOC & Lean Tools to execute our GE Aviation Production System.

* Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives to deliver process improvements, lean strategies, and best practices in the areas of lean manufacturing, six sigma, kaizen, etc.

* Consult and advise leadership on process and performance improvement opportunities that will foster growth, improved customer satisfaction, and operational efficiencies

* Organize meetings with site management to review and support project progress and assure targets are met.

* Work with Human Resources and site management to attract, recruit, and develop site Continuous Improvement talent to ensure successful implementation of process improvements.

* Report progress on a weekly basis en route to goal attainment

* Support 2018 budget process both in terms of ensuring targets are incorporated and actions are identified to enable target achievement

* Provide 1-on-1 problem solving support & assessments (in person & virtually) to site leads to further increase idea generation

* Drive engagement at the department supervisor level to ensure all departments maintain 2x their targeted variable cost improvement for any given quarter in their CI pipelines

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Improvement

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT : This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics:

* Master Black Belt certification

* Proficient at clearly defining problems and solving process weaknesses, applying a formal root cause corrective action methodology.

* Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.

* An in-depth understanding of CNC machining, part assembly, and heavy industrial manufacturing processes

* Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning and forecasting including people, material, and equipment resource allocation; corporate and human resource policies and benefits; leadership; teaming; and production methods

* Thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing work area practices including 5-S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, work center metrics, and continuous improvement processes and able to instruct others in these practices

* Results-based leadership style with strong impact and influencing skills. Persuasive and credible presentation style in order to influence all levels in the organization.

* Self-starter attitude that takes initiative to identify and mitigate operational risks.

* Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies, tools and project management experience.

* Strong problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills are required.

* Must be statistically literate and be able to manage disparate teams and complex projects.

* Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.

* Experienced in data analysis with strong computer skills (Excel, Minitab, PowerPoint).

* Strong oral and written communication skills
