Performs maintenance functions of Full Flight Simulators, Flight Training Devices, Cockpit Procedure Trainers, and associated support devices in order to meet Pilot Training, maintenance training, and FAA regulatory requirements. Troubleshoots identified discrepancies on electronic, hydraulic, visual, pneumatic, computer networks, and mechanical systems. Installs, replaces, cleans, repairs, and services various equipment including visual generation/display systems, computer networks, motion systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric), electronic circuit boards, computers, and circuits. Operates, programs and maintains Image Generation, PC, IBM, Motorola, and various other host and satellite computers. Perform periodic maintenance and diagnostics on computer and peripheral equipment. Operates and maintains electronic test equipment. Accomplishes software archiving functions. Utilizes simulator software utilities to troubleshoot simulator system discrepancies. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

The ability to read and interpret electronic/electrical drawings, schematics, and logic diagrams is preferred. Requires experience in operation of electronic test equipment in order to identify and correct malfunctioning systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits, computers, computer networks, visual generation/display systems, hydraulic systems, input/output systems, pneumatics, mechanical and flight instrumentation is preferred. Technical electronic training or equivalent military experience preferred. Familiarity with electronics and aircraft systems desirable. Should understand aerodynamics and possess a general understanding of commercial cockpit instrumentation and their relationship to the principles of flight. Required to have the physical ability to climb and work from platforms and ladders and lift 50 pounds. Must furnish personal tools as prescribed by Delta. Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.
