Position Summary

The Investigator is responsible for conducting prompt, thorough, and fair HR investigations to include: gathering and analyzing facts, applying relevant laws, policies and past practice, and making credibility determinations to reach conclusions. Partners
with HRBPs, Labor Relations, Legal, Security, Corporate Audit, and any other appropriate business units

Key Responsibilities

* Partner with HRBPs, Labor Relations, Legal, Security, Corporate Audit, and business units to conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations on violations of Company policies and procedures including but not limited to: employee misconduct, harassment,
discrimination, retaliation, hostile work environment, including EEO, FMLA etc.
* Conduct and manage investigations end-to-end, including intake meetings, background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings with leadership

* Interview all relevant parties including alleged victims, complainants and witnesses

* Prepare comprehensive written investigation reports and effectively communicate those results as needed both orally and in writing

* Maintain required documentation, including intake and investigative notes, supporting documents and final reports

* Gather, analyze, track and report information and case trends
* Work with Training & Development to develop and deliver education programs and other trainings designed to proactively address workplace issues

* Other job duties and tasks as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
* 5 years of experience in Employee Relations, investigations, employment law or related fields

* Experience handling internal company investigations within Employee Relations/Human Resources

* Strong working knowledge of the state, federal, and local labor laws, regulations, ordinances and policies

* PC literate (proficient in Windows, MS Office, Excel, Powerpoint)
* Demonstrated strong judgment and sound decision-making
* Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communications

* Ability to set priorities, manage multiple responsibilities, and deliver against deadlines

* Relationship management experience in a cross-functional environment across global teams

* Sound critical thinking, problem-solving and negotiating skills, with the ability to apply those skills to a wide range of HR issues

* Ability to work with diverse employee groups

Preferred Qualifications:

* Ability to advise and navigate in the "gray" areas and work in ambiguous and complex organizations

* Certifications in investigation training, preferably AWI-CH Certificate Holder

* Experience working with a unionized workforce
* Ability to think outside the box in developing and implementing new approaches to solutions
