The American Airlines Integrated Operations Center (IOC) offers a progressively challenging work experience for aviation students in operational areas of the company. Students work alongside experienced professionals and develop a wide variety of skills during each 10 week period.

Interns will perform entry level work in such functional areas as:

* Emergency Planning and Response – Work alongside the team on projects such as department resource guides, documenting custom requirements for Go Team supplies into various countries and developing the Cargo Go Team

* IOC Policies and Procedures – Build a tool to automate the dispatch overtime system, also work with the team developing automation for the scheduling process

* Air Traffic Control – Work with leadership on a communication and process flow and work closely on Runway closure projects

* Central Load Planning – Create a dashboard for performance metrics and help automate the scheduling process

* IOC Safety Management – Work alongside leadership on procedure documentation, risk management documentation and manual development

Job Qualifications

* Successful completion of sophomore year or approximately 60 hours towards a Bachelor Degree is preferred

* Current enrollment in an undergraduate aerospace degree program. Preferences are given to individuals with majors in: Aviation Management, Aerospace Administration & Operations, Aerospace Logistics, Aviation Business Management, Technical Services Management or Professional Pilot

* A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0

* Eligibility to work permanently in the United States

* Passing of a drug screen and background check provided by AA
