American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for an Infrastructure Team Lead to perform the following duties: Responsible for providing leadership in supporting infrastructure delivery within the group. Design and implement IT infrastructure to support applications being deployed in the various environments. Implement reliable and scalable IT infrastructure solutions which meet the needs of the team. Provide solutions that support the standards established by the Enterprise team and corporate strategy. Evaluate and forecast the financial and staffing needs to meet the infrastructure purposes and objectives within the organization. Provide infrastructure and labor estimates to support the business cases being presented for various projects approval. Negotiate with vendors to achieve the best possible pricing and services. Handle all aspects of infrastructure architecture and engineering in Server Virtualization technologies, Application Middleware components (MQ, Websphere/tcServer) and Database systems (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server). Define and monitor key performance indicators and support continuous improvement to reduce operating costs and increase effectiveness, availability, and overall performance. Evaluate and explain complex problems or situations and make sound decisions to maintain high availability for the applications. Provide technical leadership and support efforts and priorities with changing deadlines for various infrastructure projects. Liaison between Application team, Shared Services, MSPs, and Equipment Vendors. Develop and maintain processes to ensure agility and high quality of services provided. Participate in the Mid-Range Forum to ensure that the requirements and needs of the teams Infrastructure are represented and met.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience as technical lead or technical manager in the airline industry and demonstrated experience in: Infrastructure architecture and engineering in the Server and Storage platforms, Application middleware components, systems and operational management, general application and database architecture, and design patterns; ITIL, Software Development Methodologies, SCRUM, Release Management, Rally, Planview, and Agile methods; Business process re-engineering or process improvement involving broad-based information systems, utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change; Expert level experience with database technologies (Oracle and SQL), Middleware components and Operating System platforms; Database technologies with Super-Cluster, Exadata, Oracle Data Appliance, and SQL Server Products; Designing and developing Cloud and Dev-Ops solutions within the organization; Cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) and providers (Bluemix, Azure, and Softlayer); Project management skills and ability to deliver multiple project implementations on time and within budget; Employee management activities including performance management and development plans. A bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience will be accepted in the alternative.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
