United Technology Corporation is seeking a knowledgeable engineer with experience and educational, background, in the development of state-of-the-art GPS-based (and non-GPS) Navigation systems. The areas of applications will be varied but will include Navigation system development for mid and high altitude sensors , aircraft and autonomous vehicles, Responsibilities of the position will include GPS selection and modeling, design of algorithms to optimally combine data from multiple sources, simulation development, laboratory work with prototype hardware, possible support of flight testing, and interaction with customers, as well as research opportunities related to extensions and novel applications of navigation technology.
* Develop CONOPS for navigation & targeting systems
* Develop requirements for navigation & targeting systems
* Perform analysis on navigation & targeting systems
* Support integration & test of navigation & targeting systems
Qualification: Required Skills:
* 4+ years of experience developing geolocation & targeting systems
* Rich knowledge of inertial sensor characterization and modeling
* Practical experience with a range of different GPS/INS
* Demonstrated experience modeling and estimating inertial navigation systems' performance
•Range finder experience
•Classical control & Modern control application experience
•Modeling & estimation / Kalman filtering experience
•Strong personal discipline skills
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Demonstrated documentation / organizational skills
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, with ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.
* PhD in Aero/Astro, Controls, Mathematics, or Physics with 4+ years GNC experience is highly preferred
* Master's degree in Aero/Astro, Controls, Mathematics, or Physics with 8+ years GNC experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Aero/Astro, Controls, Mathematics, or Physics with 10+ years GNC experience
