This is a recruitment for a Ground Service Equipment Mechanic. This position will be based in Anchorage, Alaska, however, will require consistent travel to fulfill requirements of position. Schedule to be determined by needs of department and various stations. This is a full time, benefit eligible position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma. Continuing certification classes with emphasis in equipment repair/mechanics strongly preferred. Minimum 5+ years in equipment repair. Must have strong mechanical skills. Valid Alaska Drivers License with a good driving record required. Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to travel extensively without restriction throughout the state, working in variant climates and environments. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Responsible for maintenance and repairs of all Era Alaska Ground Support Equipment and vehicles. This position will be required to work with a high level of accuracy and efficiency. Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills are required to perform this job at an acceptable standard. Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all Era Alaska GSE and vehicles to include tugs, belt loaders, generators, heaters, deicers, cars, trucks, vans, forklifts and various types of heavy equipment. Assist with general shop duties as assigned and qualified to perform. Comply with applicable safety and environmental standards. Document all labor time/expenses. Travel to outstations on a regular basis for field repairs and maintenance. Maintain communication with GSE Manager regarding progress and/or problems related to work associated tasks. Pursue training when possible in order to continuously improve job knowledge. Seek out opportunities for further certifications – i.e. ASE Technician. Assist with parts research, price comparisons, timely procurement and inventory levels.
