The Graphic Artist is responsible for the layout, design, and production activities to produce quality graphic-design artwork.
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Completes assignments from conceptualization and design to production for specific graphic-design artwork.
Executes graphic projects and assists in coordination of all graphic production scheduling.
Coordinates production support with outside vendors, as needed.
Interfaces with users to determine scope of project and best graphic medium.
Ensures that graphic projects are completed on time, within budget, and to user's satisfaction.
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of graphic arts/design.
Advanced knowledge of graphic-design equipment and applicable software.
Ability to work under limited supervision and perform assigned tasks.
Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.
Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Two (2) years of experience in graphics arts and design or in a related field.
Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
Must be able to work extended hours, often with short notice, to meet deadlines. Extended hours may include late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
Demonstrate ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of high-quality material with attention to detail.
