General responsibilities of the position: Within the department of Materials Engineering, you will act as an expert advisor to various stakeholders such as Designers, Drafting, Project Engineers, Structures Analysts, Repair and Overhaul.

You will be a part of an exciting and diversified team with a scope of expertise that includes material properties, heat treatment, coating protection, welding, brazing processes, and engineering approval of suppliers on-site.

Specific responsibilities of position: -Support designers in the selection of Aerospace grade forging materials – Titanium alloys / Nickel-based superalloys based on engine function / environment;
-Support designers in the selection of coatings where applicable based on engine function / environment: - erosion, corrosion, etc
-Advise on Repair Schemes / Quality Non-conformances;
-Research and respond to a variety of material property-related questions from Designers, Project Engineering, and Customer Support etc.;
-Design tests and manage logistics for the purposes of material property characterization;
-Review and approve drawings;
- Travel (global) for Supplier for process reviews, Process Walk and Technical input to suppliers / Engineering intent verification;
-Write technical Memos, Specifications and Materials Engineering Best Practices;
-Manage Data and statistical analysis capability;
-Knowledge of Aerospace certification requirements.

Qualifications required: -Bachelors, Masters or PhD. in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering with 10 years (flexible) working in Aerospace Forging-related Field;
-Excellent communication skills in English and French;
-Strong technical writing skills
-Able to work under pressure and adapt to changes in priority
-Strong sense of customer service;
-Adaptable, autonomous and rigorous approach;Willingness to learn and to share knowledge.
