Individual will provide knowledge and assistance to maintenance personnel on the T-6 aircraft basic structure and operating systems, avionics and electrical systems, engine operations, support equipment, and required maintenance tasks including crash recovery. Field Support Representative (FSR) shall possess the ability to work independently, without technical guidance, to perform tasks included in the T-6 aircraft maintenance manual. FSR shall have sufficient education and maintenance experience background to perform the duties involved in maintenance, assembly, operation, repair, test, and related functions of the T-6 aircraft. FSR shall have experience utilizing all ground support equipment necessary to maintain the T-6A/B/D aircraft. FSR shall have the ability to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel and communicate effectively in both oral and written communication. FSR should effectively instruct U.K. maintenance technicians in a structured on-the-job training (OJT) program as necessary. Supports all program needs and supports various other tasks.
Provide instruction, assistance, and on-the-job training in:
a) Operating and maintaining the T-6 aircraft and its avionics, propulsion, and support equipment systems
b) Resolving T-6 aircraft equipment or system anomalies
c) Performing fault reporting and fault isolation procedures
d) Removing and installing components, demonstrating hands-on training of new tasks
e) Using hand equipment, special tools, and test equipment
f) Emphasizing safety precautions during the operation and maintenance
g) Providing interpretation of technical data set forth in Technical Orders
Provide Suggestions for Improvement including:
Additional training for organizational maintenance team personnel
Changes to operation, maintenance, inspection, and training requirements to improve system performance/reliability
Maintaining warehouse, equipment, and tools
Advisory representation to the Contractor’s UK MFTS program management team to make recommendations concerning Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Service Instructions (SIs)
Assist in monitoring all failures and performing trending and analysis, recommend corrective actions
Provide Hands-On Maintenance and Support
Validating the best method for accomplishing service instructions, time compliance technical orders or installing mods or retrofit kits
Verifying completed maintenance tasks
Other tasks as requested
Five or more years of field maintenance experience on the T-6 platform or ten or more years field maintenance experience on other aircraft platforms
Ability to provide technical support on the T-6 platform with no additional training
Ability to read and comprehend aircraft technical orders, job guides, schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, charts, work instructions and technical publications
Significant experience in aircraft airframe and powerplant that includes, but not limited to, repairs and services to parts and systems in an aircraft except for the instruments and avionics.
Physical ability to lift and handle 50 lbs and perform climbing and stooping tasks related to the job
Must have an in-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations
Effective problem solving skills with limited direction
Current driver’s license
Have at least 10 years of directly related experience (Military experience preferred)
Five or more years leadership experience in aircraft maintenance and or logistics role
International maintenance experience to include working with international regulatory agencies and foreign government entitiesPT6A turbine engine experience
Five or more years of aircraft Avionics/Electrical experience on Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 or Esterline CMC 4000 suites
Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or other aerospace related field
