We have an immediate need for a Fabrication Working Lead.
This position contributes to the company mission and is essential to the general flow of work for the entire company.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Responsible for fabrication of 2-D carbon/carbon composites.
This individual to perform all the distinct operations pertaining to the fabrication process.
Follow all environmental, health, safety procedures.
Sets up samco press with specific die cutters; cuts carbon fabric sheets into specified segments; apply resin to carbon fabric segments per specification; ability to distinguish the different from good resin application and bad resin application.
Lays up resin carbon fabric segments circularly per specification; to load/unload laid-up carbon composite parts into a hydraulic warm press for curing the resin per specification with the different cycles of the warm press
Able to conduct weekly surveys and use appropriate equipment/tools to perform job functions safely.
Maintains compliance with run instructions, SOP's, EI's, etc.
Adhere to engineering instruction, standard operation procedures, departmental procedures policies/procedures are followed Candidate must also be familiar with all applicable audits.
Lead, administer fabrication operations; direct, cross train, rotate employees, conduct performance reviews for all direct reports, Approve hours in timekeeping system.
Monitor progress of production in the fabrication process area, candidate must be able to communicate to management and performs other miscellaneous duties deemed necessary by the Supervisor.
Provides training to inexperienced employee; supports employee cross-training, assignment rotation
Candidate must be proficient in interviewing process.
Able to plan and balance the department’s workload.
Coordinate personnel, equipment, resources to support production requirements; setting objectives, priorities, and following up on commitments to ensure completion of logs, forms, permits as required.
Promotes lean manufacturing methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, TPM and other continuous improvement tools, continuously improve the quality of processes and conducts root cause analysis as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualification: Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
Minimum 2 years working in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with composite processing.
Must read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
Able to review procedures and/or work instructions.
Fully competent using a computer.
Familiar with Microsoft Office. Basic math skills.
Competent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Required to lead with dignity and respect.
Make sound business decisions.
Create an environment in which people are involved, included, and have a sense of ownership.
Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
