Summary/Objective:  The Recruiting Events Program Specialists is responsible for the planning, management and execution of events, conferences and industry shows for PSA’s recruiting function.  The Events Specialists works with the Director of Pilot Recruiting and Director of Recruiting to deliver effective event management and logistical services to successfully represent PSA in the market.
Essential Functions:  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Understand PSA’s business goals and talent requirements and support/identify/recommend event-based programs that will help PSA fulfill its hiring objectives.
  • Conduct pre-planning meetings with recruiting directors and URR manager to determine technical and/or other special requirements needed for event; to develop timeline, product lists and demos, attendee lists, booth schedules, theme, and all logistical needs. Request & maintain all event guidelines and reserve booth space for each show. 
  • Works with recruiting leaders to execute participation in planned events and identify other marketing opportunities around an event beyond exhibition space including speaking opportunities.
  • Support marketing plan for tradeshows & markets, including traditional and social media.
  • Negotiate contracts with service providers, vendors and suppliers as required.
  • Executes Contract and sponsorship activation.
  • Maintains direct contact with personnel of various event organizations and university/school department associated with scheduled events.
  • Assist with efforts to publicize events as required.
  • Maintain records of event aspects, including financial details.
  • Maintains internal & external communication with key stakeholders.
  • Post Event Follow up & Surveying.
  • Other projects as assigned.
Competencies and Knowledge:  The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills in the following:  excellent interpersonal skills; influence; approachability; performance management; problem-solving; strong communication (verbal and written), presentation and negotiation skills; organized and detail-oriented and finesse to drive virtual teams; ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment; professional aptitude; multi-tasking and adaptability in an aggressive growth environment.
Supervisory Responsibility:  This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:  This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 25 lbs; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:  This is a full-time position with an expectation of occasional evening and weekend hours as job duties demand. 
Travel:  Travel is required of this position, from time to time.
Required Education and Experience:  Minimum two years of event marketing/planning or large meeting/tradeshow/conference experience, knowledge of planning events from inception to implementation, including budget preparations; BA degree preferred in Business, but not required if strong background and experience in event marketing/planning or large meeting/tradeshow/conference experience.  Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:  Excellent client management skills.
