Boeing South Carolina has an exciting opening for an entry level Structural Analysis Engineer to join our Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) organization in Charleston, South Carolina. This is a Level 1 position.
You will have the responsibility of supporting either 787 Airframe, Interiors, Propulsion Systems, and/or The Engineering Design Center.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
Perform stress analyses (static strength, stability, fatigue, fracture) of airplane metal and composite components, using classical analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle.
Assist with developing, integrating and documenting structural requirements to establish the system design.
Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's operating environment.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies and representatives to support certification of airplane structural components.
Assist with developing test plans and configurations, supporting test execution, analyzing and report test results to verify systems and components compliance with requirements and specifications.
Evaluate strength of structural non-conformances and repairs.
Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
Explore new composite repair methods and technologies.
Work under general direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required)
* Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
* This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
