Role Summary:
This role is responsible for assisting in the design and certification of new avionics systems installations on 14 CFR Part 23/25 aircraft. This role will perform conceptual and detailed part design of primary aircraft structures assemblies and installations utilizing AutoCAD 2009 or later in compliance with FAA regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Generate wiring diagrams, wire route schematics and other required type design data needed to support STC projects assisting in the development of documentation for new avionics system installations

* Coordinating with project leads and technicians as needed to complete assigned tasks.

* Assure integrity of the Avionics installation both structural and electrical.

* Provide technical skills required to assure that design is analyzed and complies with application requirements.

* Organize and develop engineering design projects, plans and schedules.

* Document installation design, maintenance instructions and certification compliance with FAA and Foreign regulations.

* Specify materials for detail parts assembly based on the installation environmental requirements; specify hardware requirements for Electrical harness/cable design and Structural-part Fabrication and Installation.

* Design and develop drawings such as wiring diagrams, schematics, wire routing, structural installation and other required type design data needed to support STC acquisition and maintenance.

* Commitment to comply with the requirements of Avionica’s Quality System Manual, and Quality Policy, Avionica’s core values of Stewardship, Excellence, and Continuous Improvement

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent work experience

* Minimum 4 years' of experience in avionics/aircraft integration, managing multi-discipline projects to the successful completion.

* Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

* Working knowledge of FAA & Foreign CAA coordination and certification compliance (i.e. STC acquisition)

* Experience with Phase Development processes to AS9100 compliance, a plus

* Strong communication and leadership skills, and demonstrated experience with project management.

* Detailed working knowledge of aircraft wiring diagrams, wire-routing drawings, and the content required on those drawings for compliance to code or regulatory authority.

* Aircraft Structural Integration, exposure to FCBS, DTA/DTE.

* Electrical and Structural Substantiation, exposure to EAPAS.

* Hardware specifications for Electrical harnesses/cables, connector, contacts, mechanical parts design and Structural parts for Fabrication and Installation.

* Title 14 CFR applicable to Systems and Equipment, Electrical and Structural.

* Comprehensive knowledge of Aircraft Systems.

* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.

* CAD – 3D Modeling Experience, Preferably AutoCAD preferred, not required.

* A&P License preferred, not required.

* FAA, DER Systems and Equipment, Electrical and/or Structural Experience Preferred, not required.

* Commitment to comply with the requirements of Avionica’s Quality System Manual

* Project Management certification, a plus

* Comprehensive knowledge of Aircraft Systems.

* A&P License Preferred, not required.
