Role Summary:
Responsible for welding metal components as specified by layout, blueprints, diagrams, or manufacturing operations sheet (MOS), using electric arc-welding equipment. You will weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions. In addition, under general supervision, weld components in accordance with standard GTAW processes and applications with the desired outcome of joining a variety of material types and thicknesses together in accordance with site specifications.

Essential Responsibilities:
 Complies with and supports all Elano/GEAE policies as listed in the Elano Policy Manual and the “Integrity: The Spirit and The Letter of Our Commitment” guide.

 Uses hand tools, cut off saw, belt sander, and other cutting and smoothing machinery to grind out burrs and sharp edges.

 May also run an Autowelder. Inspects part to calibrated fixture. Straightens and sizes tubing or assemblies to fixture using clamp blocks, vices, hammer, and checks with verniers. Uses tap gages to tap threads.

 May set up and install dies into power presses to punch, notch, cut blanks, form or draw metal plates, strips, sheets or blanks. Position, align and lock specified dies into press ram and bed. Sets, stops, guides or installs jigs and fixtures for positioning workpiece.

 Adjusts depth and pressure of stroke. Operates press machine to verify functioning of dies. Examines stamped out metal parts to detect malfunctioning machine and defect in dies.

 Performs regular preventative maintenance.

 Will train and work with all areas of the Cell to run other processes as needed.

 Operates machine(s) in a prescribed safe manner.

 Performs regular preventative maintenance. Ability to verify calibration.

 Maintains eQuals requirements.

 Use standards shops measuring devices (calipers and micrometers).

 Review, understand and follow routers, procedure, specifications, and other instructions for completeness to perform operations.

 Ensures all requires company paperwork is completed in time specifications and accurately.

 Ability to read, understand, and fully interpret blueprints. Ability to read, understand, and fully interpret inspection sheets.

 Produce error free products and identify revision levels.

 Ability to work established manufacturing guidelines and meet production goals.

 Understand safety and machining hazards and have a basic understanding of processes within home cell.

 Willing to undergo on-the-job training learning each computerized machine for approximately one or two months per machine. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge in or be willing to take training in the following Basic Safety Courses.

 Ability to Add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions, decimals, and whole numbers. Calculate algebraic variables and formulas and have a basic understanding of trigonometry (i.e., sine, cosine, and tangent formulas).

 Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in a standardized situation.

 Able to read safety rules in the use and maintenance of shop equipment. Able to read related technical material and apply principles to daily operations (this includes reading and interpreting blueprints). Able to read and complete forms

 Able to work under general direction with minimal supervision.

Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of 6 months operating machine experience. Successful completion of a TIG or GTAW training course or program or minimum 1 year of experience as a TIG or GTAW welder

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift up to 25 pounds repetitively. Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds non-repetitive. With necessary assistance occasionally lift over 50 pounds.

Able to work in an area where there is moderate noise intensity (85 to 89.9 dBa). Able to work in an area where, due to normal machining operations there may be dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels (PEL)). Able to wear hearing protection in areas over 90 dBa. Ability and willingness to work in an area where, due to normal machining operations there may be dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels (PEL))
