The AMETEK PSI Division is a leader in power quality monitoring and metering, uninterruptible power supplies, industrial batter chargers, programmable power equipment, electromagnetic compatibility test equipment, and sensors for gas turbine generators. We provide instrumentation solutions serving power providers and power consumers.

The PSI Division is a part of the Electronic Instruments Group and has revenue of $500M and 1,500 employees. The Division’s engineering and manufacturing activities take place in several North American facilities, but primarily in Columbus, OH, Rochester, NY, Waukegan, IL, San Diego, CA and Raleigh, NC and internationally in Switzerland, Germany and The United Kingdom. Location

AMETEK is currently seeking a Division Vice President of Finance – PSI based out of Columbus, OH. This position’s customer base and geographic spread are global in scope and therefore, very frequent travel is expected.

The Divisional Vice President of Finance for PSI is the most senior financial leadership role within this global stand-alone division. The position is accountable for business/financial intelligence within PSI that is accurate, actionable, and timely. Using in-depth knowledge of the key levers of the business, the DVP Finance will drive activities across the division to improve financial performance. The role is the division’s liaison to the larger finance AMETEK organization and the owner of compliance requirement. This hands-on position is responsible for the planning, development, coordination and control of all financial activities including annual budgets, forecasting, cost development and internal management. This financial leader will possess stellar financial skills and will analyze, review and interpret operating results, forecasts, plans, trends, policies, and profit opportunities recommending projected courses of action to senior staff members. This role will lead and drive the finance organization as it supports the division’s growth and expansion both organically and through acquisition. The locations reporting to this position include Solidstate Controls in Columbus, OH, Power Instruments in Rochester, NY, Programmable Power in San Diego, CA and Compliance Test Solutions in Switzerland.

The Divisional Vice President of Finance PSI will serve as a business partner to the Vice President and General Manager of the PSI division and will provide overall financial leadership for the PSI Division. This individual will be a key member of the Division leadership team and work closely with senior management to develop and plan the financial goals, objectives and strategies of the Division and to execute these plans with discipline. Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining a process of accumulating, analyzing, interpreting and communicating financial information to be used to effectively manage the Division’s resources. These responsibilities require the position to work regularly with the General Manager, Business Unit Managers and other division leaders. This position will provide significant leadership in evaluating and integrating acquisitions. Key responsibilities include:

• Assist in driving financial results of the business to optimize business performance. Serves as a trusted business partner who takes a stand on issues and enables wise decisions.
• Maintaining effective internal control of all PSI businesses to ensure continued control and protection of assets and an accurate reporting of its financial position.
• Lead the financial strategy of the division. Own the translation of the overall business strategy into an appropriate financial strategy that allows SCI to meet it growth objectives in a highly profitable way.
• Directing preparation of all budgets/forecasting, reviewing budget proposals, and preparing necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Develop talent and maximize human capital. Be the senior evaluator of the financial talent across the division. Proactively work with the finance functions to help identify gaps in talent and opportunities.
• Ensuring the timely and accurate financial analysis of business plans, forecasts, product costs/sales prices, metrics and operating results to highlight potential opportunities and problems so corrective action can be taken for future improvement.
• Preparing and analyzing reports which summarize and forecast PSI business activity in the areas of income, expenses, earnings and working capital based on past, present and expected operations. Close the books accurately and on a timely basis.
• Contributing to the long-term growth and profitability of the company through the development and communication of policies and strategies and by providing recommendations to senior leaders for allocation of capital resources based on opportunity for greatest return.
• Providing management with monthly and annual reviews of the organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
• Directing special studies and analyses concerning economic and financial implications of existing and planned PSI business initiatives.
• Enhancer systems and process to provide greater quality and scale. Drive the ERP implementation across the division.
• Developing and maintaining effective internal controls within the business unit to meet SOX 404 compliance. Establishing accounting policies applicable to cost and inventory accounting and ensure that proper standard costs and inventory systems are maintained by plant accounting personnel.
• Arranging for audits of company accounts and interfacing with the internal and external audit staff.
• Developing overall financial objectives for multiple business units which consolidate into a division annual budget and become part of the division business plan.

• Leading the understanding and reporting of business performance results, anticipating issues, providing internal/external perspective and recommendations to address issues and improve results.
• Performing due diligence on possible acquisition, divestiture, and merger opportunities; developing valuation models, business forecasts, and profitability analysis to support these opportunities.

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will have:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited four-year university or college.
• A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or other evidence of substantial business knowledge, is desirable.
• An active CPA status is highly desirable.
• The Candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience in with at least 5 years in a financial management and leadership role in a publicly held company.

Ideally, the candidate is currently serving in a comparable role today. Experience in the manufacturing industry is required. The Candidate must possess a broad finance and accounting background, be an independent thinker, possess a collaborative, team-oriented mindset, and have a command of the key financial metrics necessary to enhance operational effectiveness.
