  • For HAL fleet of aircraft, responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of:
    • Maintenance Reliability 
    • Maintenance Programs 
    • Configuration Control 
    • Delta Engineering/Airbus A330 activity (Liaison) 
  • Maintenance Reliability
    • Ensures Maintenance Reliability group is effective in generating reliability data for numerous stakeholders, providing the data needed for these stakeholders to enable good decision making to improve the operation.
    • Ensures reports and data provided on a regular basis to stakeholder groups is generated efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Ensures the Maintenance Reliability group proactively champions the use of such data in helping the M&E organization reduce delays and cancellations, improve component MTBF, customer experience and provide a higher reliability product to the airline.
  • Maintenance Programs
    • Ensures Maintenance Program group is effective in their management and/or oversight of FAA-approved maintenance programs (ETOPS, LLM/LMP, RVSM, CPCP, Aging Aircraft, OIP, CDCCL, etc.) to ensure continued compliance with current requirements.
    • Ensures maintenance program deliverables are adjusted to the latest Maintenance Planning Data (MPD) and Maintenance Review Board (MRB) reports.
    • Ensures a robust program is in place for review of non-routine write-ups for Maintenance Program T/C improvement. Ensures most current and pertinent technical data is accurately reflected in maintenance program deliverables.
  • Configuration Control
    • Ensures Configuration Control group maintains, revises and authors aircraft configuration documentation (AMMs, WDs, IPCs, Schematics, etc) in an accurate and timely manner, reflecting latest OEM and engineering provided info.
    • Ensures Airworthiness Directive and Service Bulletin and Alert Bulletins are accurately and comprehensively tracked, to record applicability, disposition and compliance.
    • Provides direction to HAL Airbus & Delta Liaison engineer, ensuring HAL leadership is aware of HAL A330 DL CFS project status, aircraft configuration issues, maintenance and reliability issues, concerns and enhancements.
  • Professional Development of team members in the group and other related duties as assigned by Senior Director – Engineering.

Basic Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering with at least 8 years' experience in the aviation maintenance industry, or an advanced degree and 5 years of relevant airline maintenance experience. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 12+ years of airline maintenance program experience, of which the majority of time in a management capacity, may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial aviation experience with FAR 121, in the field of Aircraft Maintenance, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Regulatory Compliance.
  • Valid driver’s license  
  • Proven ability to lead others in an effective and productive way. Ability to get things done in a fast paced environment, with multiple customers, deadlines and priorities.
  • Possesses a contagious, positive attitude – creatively finds a way to get things accomplished without compromising on safety and efficiency. Takes a proactive approach in finding a better way of doing things. Cultivates a continuous improving culture within his/her team. 
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects to balance work within the group, ensuring important technical updates are provided to maintenance documentation in an expeditious manner. 
  • Must be familiar with aircraft systems on large commercial transport aircraft.
  • Must possess strong organizational and prioritization skills, a demonstrated ability of acting as an effective change agent, as well as good oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and on-call when required. 
  • Excellent knowledge of common MS Office suite of tools. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A&P certificate preferred. 
  • Familiarity and experience in working with FAA PMI/POI, and demonstrated experience in managing an organization responsible for FAR 121 maintenance programs, reliability and/or configuration documentation is desired.
  • Working knowledge of TRAX is desired (but not a requirement).
