POSITION INFORMATION

Role Summary
The Director Corporate Real Estate is responsible for the management, development and productive use of Alaska Air Group (AAG) owned and leased corporate properties. This Director is responsible for completing impactful real estate projects, potentially spanning multiple years, on budget and on schedule while openly communicating with internal team leaders, real estate users, external parties and other AAG service providers such as Information & Technology Services (ITS), Human Resources (H/R) and Security. The Director develops and maintains exceptional standards and best practices with respect to workplace strategy and real estate.

Scope & Complexity
- This leadership role oversees a team of real estate professionals and projects of very large scope involving multimillion dollar spends at Alaska Air Group (AAG).

Key Duties
- Directs and oversees all aspects of AAG owned property portfolio while optimizing the utilization of current company owned properties and forecasting future needs.
- Manage all leased office space including defining space requirements, tenant improvements and negotiating with landlords.
- Develops a master space plan for the corporate property portfolio.
- Develops and implements a long-term capital planning strategy for the corporate property portfolio in partnership with Financial Planning & Analysis.
- Manages all property development functions including construction project oversight.
- Oversees and manages construction contractors and other real estate vendors.
- Manages the design and implementation of all office, training, and collaboration spaces across all AAG teams.
- Oversees facilities management including overseeing the maintenance and engineering function.
- Communicates with stakeholders and keeps property occupants informed.
- Leads, develops and mentors the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) team while maintaining a high performance culture and strong customer service mentality.
- Sponsors key initiatives and projects related to major AAG real estate assets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Skills & Education
Required
- A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in business administration or a real estate related degree.
- A minimum of 10 years of business experience with real estate management, construction management, contract management or financial planning and analysis.
- A minimum of 5 years of real estate management experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing, developing and retaining a productive and diverse workgroup.
- Experience with full budgetary responsibility for a multi-million-dollar company or division.
- Negotiations experience.
- Strategic planning and implementation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and objectives.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred
- A Master of Arts/Science degree or a Master of Business Administration degree.
