JOIN OUR TEAM AND BE INVOLVED IN DEVELOPING FLIGHT CRITICAL

AEROSPACE COMPONENTS!

As a
Moog Aircraft Group Systems Development Engineer, individuals must bring a
solid technical background, passion for learning and working through difficult
problems, and exhibit potential for leadership in the future. A Systems
Development Engineer will be a key contributor to one or more of Moog’s new
development projects focused on designing, verifying, and delivering aircraft
flight control actuation systems (FCAS) or weapons bay door actuation systems
(WBDAS). Specific tasks may involve requirements definition, system
design, integration and test, report writing, and customer briefing.

The
successful candidate must be sound technically and sufficiently broad in
his/her experience or interest areas to delve into complicated problems
involving the interaction between mechanical, electrical, and software
subsystems. Additionally, he/she must bring a demonstrated experience in
solving complex problems in a collaborative team environment, preferably in an
aerospace context. Applicants must be highly motivated “self-starters”
willing to tackle multi-disciplinary engineering problems and “own”
responsibilities that, by their nature, will require both consultation with
engineering peers and self-motivated research. The successful candidate will be
interested in big picture thinking and working in a multi-disciplinary
environment to resolve technically-challenging problems.

Here is what to expect on
a day-to-day basis:

* Contribute to the design, validation, and verification
of a FCAS/WBDAS
* Operate as member of the Systems Engineering team,
within a multi-disciplinary project team
* Be responsible for generating
design artifacts including:
* Simulation
models
* Design
requirements
* Validation
and verification plans and procedures
* Test
and analysis reports
* Communicate on a technical
level with customer representatives and suppliers
* Be proactive in asking
questions, doing research, and understanding Moog’s technology
* Analyze and troubleshoot problems for root cause, and
be involved in implementing solutions
* Learn from senior staff and
apply lessons quickly and efficiently to assigned tasks

At
a minimum, you will need to meet these qualifications:

* BS or MS in Electrical,
Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer or Systems Engineering from an accredited
university, with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
* Must have the ability and willingness to obtain an Active DOD Secret clearance.
* Demonstrated academic success
in a technical track
* Demonstrated leadership or team
experience of a technical nature
* Excellent verbal and written
skills required
* Basic knowledge of
Matlab/Simulink tools
* Excellent communication and
people skills
* The ability to travel
Requirements to other Moog sites, customer sites (US based); 10-25%

Preferred
qualifications include:

proficiency with Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow tools
* Experience and advanced
proficiency in control system design
* Knowledge of hydro-mechanical
and/or electro-mechanical actuation technologies
* Familiarity with aircraft
flight control systems
* Experience in laboratory
settings testing electrical/mechanical hardware
