About The Job

This job is a member of the Employee Recognition and Engagement Team within the Corporate Communications Division. This position will be responsible for managing American’s length of service program, which recognizes our team members’ milestones with the company. Also, responsible for managing the retirement gift program.

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

* ​Leads day to day activities for the Length of Service pin and Retirement programs, including working with local teams on pin distribution and correspondence with our vendor

* Engages daily with our team members through correspondence to our recognition email account

* Coordinates with vendor and leaders to manage Special Event recognition

* Works with specialists and operational leaders on Holiday Meal coordination (Oct-Dec)Supports the team on other important program work, including the quarterly Above & Beyond drawing, quarterly Chairman’s Awards and Real American Hero

* Serves as a subject matter expert for employee questions on recognition programs and reporting

* Supports the team on major events including the Annual Chairman’s Award Dinner and Service Anniversary

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* ​High School Diploma or GED equivalent 1 year of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

* ​2 years of related experience preferred

* ​Passion for influencing culture and making a positive difference for our team members

* Exceptional attention to detail

* Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines effectively, efficiently and independently

* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

* Sound judgment, self-directed, able to take initiative when appropriate

* Ability to interact with team members in a positive manner

* Professional, positive, enthusiastic demeanor, which includes being flexible, proactive, confident, resourceful, and efficient

* Knowledge of Microsoft office software (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software

* Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
