Engineering Co-Op (Electrical, Software or Computer Engineering)

AMAZING OPPORTUNITY! Attention: Undergraduate Electrical, Software or Computer Engineer Students! These temporary positions are full time hours (40 hours per week) for a 6 month paid Co-op experience.

Our past Co-op Students always provide us with positive feedback on how valuable their experience here was and how much they were able to learn through hands-on involvement! Each Co-op student is mentored by a Project Engineer and assigned to active engineering design projects.

Power and Data Systems Business Unit
Part of the Measurement and Power Systems group the Power and Data Systems business unit designs, manufactures and provides aftermarket services for starter generators, generator control units, motors, actuators, solid state power distribution systems & components, data acquisition and indicators for the commercial / military aerospace and ground vehicle markets.

Our business unit currently has facilities in four locations Wichita, Kansas; Harleysville, Pennsylvania; Binghamton, New York; and Bangalore, India.

POSITION SUMMARY: Co-op student is assigned to active engineering design projects and is mentored by a Project Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design analog and digital circuits independently or under the guidance of the Project Engineer
• Conduct mathematical and software analysis of problems
• Perform circuit and system hardware and software testing
• Write or modify product acceptance test, production test and qualification test procedures
• Optimize/re-engineer existing designs
• Research new electronic and mechanical design solutions
• Write and document software for embedded processors in high level languages in coordination with project or software engineers
• Implement incremental changes to existing products
• Troubleshoot product performance problems

Position Requirements

EDUCATION:
• Prospective candidates must have completed minimum of 2 years of coursework and working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Minimum GPA: 3.00 (copy of transcript will be required)

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
• Have a working knowledge of standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs and function generators
• Must be PC literate with experience in Windows applications
• Have good written and verbal communication skills
• Have ability to provide thorough attention to detail
• Experience with software development in C, C++ and software tools desirable

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Due to US government contracts, must be US Citizen or Green Card holder
• Pre-employment drug test and background check will be required
