Moog is a worldwide designer, manufacturer and systems integrator of high performance precision motion and fluid controls systems for a broad range of applications in aerospace, defense, and industrial markets.
The Aircraft Group is looking for a CNC Programmer to join our Production Team.
This is a full time, direct hire machinist opening with Moog Inc. which includes a wide array of benefits from comprehensive health, dental, vision and life insurances; paid vacation days; a retirement savings plan including employer matching; profit share; and 9.5 paid holidays annually.
Here's what you can expect on a day-to-day basis:
As a member of a 3-6 person Manufacturing Engineering Team, under the technical guidance of a Methods Engineering Group Leader, and supervision of the Methods Engineering Manager (or Supervisor), prepares programming data to produce machined parts or portions thereof on numerically controlled machines. He/She also solves the manufacturing problems associated with the N/G work and performs liaison involving the production of these parts.
Determine operations to be performed on N/C and prepare detailed program outline and establish tooling and gauging requirements to produce Aerospace parts on numerically controlled machines. Prepares detailed operation sheets for the N/C portion of the process and makes estimates of setup and run hours for production parts and design & build hours for tooling. When a part contains a very large percentage of N/C work, it may be entirely possible that he/she is responsible for the total operation sheet.
In addition to the above detailed "desk type" of work, the incumbent must also spend time in the N/C centers solving problems and improving processes associated with the parts he/she is responsible for. The solutions of these problems may require the Programmer "A"s decision alone, or could result in his/her contacting and working with his/her Group Leader, Methods Engineers, Moog Product or Design Engineers, Quality Assurance Personnel, Moog Metallurgists, or Inspectors. Human relation skills are necessary to work with a variety of people.
We'll be looking for you to have the following:
Graduate of a two-year technical school beyond high school plus five years experience in Precision Machine Shop Manufacturing; or
B.S. Degree (ME or IE) with 0- 1 years experience in Machine Shop practices and procedures.
