Basic Purpose of Position:

Responsible to produce and maintain regulatory compliant technical documentation related to aircraft type. Required to monitor government and manufacturer publications in order to produce manual revisions. This position is also required to provide significant contributions to authoring Company Operations Manual (COM) policies and procedures.

Key Activities:

*

Responsible for maintaining efficient and regulatory compliant technical documentation related to aircraft type.

*

Monitor manufacturer publications affecting the operation of the aircraft.

*

Liaison with Transport Canada and Aircraft manufacturers regarding aircraft certification issues and aircraft operating documents including;

*

Minimum Equipment List (MEL)

*

Aircraft Operating Manuals (AOM)

*

Aircraft Performance manuals

*

Quick Reference Handbooks (QRH)

*

Flight deck reference material

*

Fuel Policy on type

*

Icing Operations

*

Monitors Transport Canada (TC) publications including;

*

Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS),

*

Commercial Air Service Standards (CASS)

*

Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL)

*

Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM),

*

Transportation Safety Board releases (TSB)

*

etc. to ensure compliance.

*

Monitor FAA publication including FARS, SAFO, AIM, etc. to ensure compliance.

*

Produce and distribute Flight Ops Memos and AOM revisions.

*

Significant contributions to authoring Company Operations Manual (COM) policies and procedures.

*

Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers

*

Liaise with Transport Canada, FAA, NAV Canada, Airport Authorities, RAA Flight Technical Committee, SAE G-12 and other industry stakeholders on technical issues.

*

Liaise with Chief Pilot Training on type specific issues.

*

Liaise with Flight Training Program Manager and provide SME QA review for PPC and training script content.

*

QA programs for compliance with TC standards

*

Liaise with Corporate Safety on type specific safety investigations.

*

Liaise with Chief Pilot Line Operations on type specific matters.

*

Liaise with Human Factors team to establish HF elements in AOM.

*

Liaise with SOC and Flight Dispatch regarding airports, routes, aircraft performance, etc.

*

Liaise with Maintenance on aircraft acquisitions, modifications.

*

Liaise with Inflight on type specific matters.

*

Liaise with Manager Regulatory Affairs on COM language and regulatory issues.\Liaises with Corporate Communications on type specific matters.

*

Provide technical support for IOSA certification and compliance and other audits.

*

Responsible for Fuel Planning Policy on type.

*

Organize new aircraft acquisitions, test flights, post heavy check flights, and ferry flights.

*

Report to Director, Flight Operations, any pertinent technical or regulatory issues.

*

Maintain line currency on each type variant.

*

Maintain Approved Check Pilot (ACP) authority.

*

On a rotation bases, be the “On Call Manager” during a 24 hour/7day coverage.

*

Emergency Response Program Field Team Member.

*

All other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot Flight Technical.

* Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.

Qualifications:

* Must have strong communication and leadership skills.

* Strong planning & organization skills.

* Must have a solid ability to delegate while maintaining overall control and direction.

* Must be able to cope with high stress tolerance.

* Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

* Must have 5 years of work experience in the airline industry.

* Preference for applicants with previous aviation management experience or flight training experience.

* Must have an Airline Transport Pilot License.

* Preference to candidates with an Aviation Management Degree or Diploma.
