Candidates who apply for this requisition may be invited for a group screening process, which will be held at our Corporate Offices in Honolulu on Monday, December 11, 2017. Candidates who pass
the group screening will be invited for a final screening, which will be held on Tuesday, December 12 and Wednesday, December 13. Travel to the screening sessions are the responsibility of the candidate.

This requisition is for Honolulu Cargo ONLY. Positions are typically posted 3 - 4 weeks prior to the recruitment event and posted for a limited time only.

Work Schedule:

During training: 14 days full-time, typically Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted in Honolulu and is unpaid.

If hired: schedules are awarded on a seniority basis. All shift schedules, including part-time, are 5 days on, 2 days off. Days off may not necessarily be consecutive. Schedules are set, however, may change throughout the year in conjunction
with the collective bargaining agreement.

Candidates with restrictions in their availability will not continue in the screening process.

Pay & Benefits:

Pay for the position is in conjunction with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and is $10.71 per hour. Medical, dental, vision and Hawaiian Airlines flight benefits are offered.

About the Airport Cargo Training Pool:

Candidates in the Airport Cargo Training Pool can be considered for the Cargo Agent position.

If you are successful in the screening process and identified as a candidate to be considered for our unpaid training, you will be placed into the training pool.

Final candidates from the screening process will remain in the training pool through May 31, 2018. Candidates not invited for training by then will need to re-apply for the training opportunity.


Candidates in the pool may be invited to attend unpaid training provided by Hawaiian Airlines. The training session is up to 14 days (typically Monday – Friday). If invited to training, you will have an opportunity to learn general airline operations, including
regulatory concepts and the Interact/Sabre computer system, which is the industry standard used by many airlines.

Cargo Agent Key Responsibilities:

Cargo Operations are defined as duties and activities relating to the acceptance, delivery, storage, handling and loading of cargo, mail, Dangerous Goods and Company Material (COMAT). Their primary goal is to maintain an operation that is efficient while
maintaining the highest levels of safety.

Performs any one or combination of airport duties involving customer contact and operational duties. Such duties shall include, but will not be limited to:

* Cargo Personnel’s duties involve the safe and proper servicing of all inbound and outbound cargo, and the preparation, reporting, and accounting of necessary documents (including but not limited to U.S.
Customs documents, air cargo manifests, air waybill).
* Servicing the public in all aspects of handling freight, and other requests governed by associated Federal & State Agencies.

* Builds-up, breaks down Unit Load Device(s) (ULD).

* Initiates the cargo claims process.

* Safe operation of ground service equipment in connection with above duties and only after proper training.

* Provides information to customers: cargo rates, U.S. Customs and agriculture requirements information, etc.

* Performs all lower classification work within same IAM Class.

* Picks up and drops off cargo at the flight line for all flights.

* Accounts for and audits daily cash and charge transactions of interisland, domestic, and international shipments.

* Where required, recording and reporting of meteorological observations.

* Other requests as directed by Management.


For All Positions:

Body art, including tattoos and body piercing (other than one stud in one lobe), shall not be exposed while performing job duties and must be covered at all times by a uniform piece or removed.


Visible is considered anything seen while wearing a Hawaiian Airlines standard uniform piece (short-sleeved shirt or blouse), including but not limited to the neck area and above, any visible areas with arms lifted above the head,
or any visible areas while in a crouching position.


Covering tattoos with makeup, bandages or wearing a long-sleeved shirt under the short-sleeved standard uniform piece is not acceptable.

Cargo Agent Minimum Requirements:

* Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
* Must have six months of experience in operating a computer or equivalent of one year travel agency experience.

* Must be flexible in work assignment areas and hours.
* Must have good customer relation skills.
* Must be able to meet the physical requirements of position including lifting up to 70 lbs. unassisted.

* Able to operate a computer; requires 25 wpm keyboarding skills.
* Able to obtain a Customs' seal.
* Able to obtain Forklift certification.
* Able to obtain restricted area clearance (AOA card).

***HAZMAT MATERIAL TRAINING PREREQUISTE- Per 14 CFR 121.1005(b) requires each crewmember and person performing or directly supervising any job functions involving any item for transport on board an aircraft to receive HAZMAT Training respective to their
job function prior to reporting to that department.
