Micro-Poise Measurement Systems an AMETEK company is a leading OEM supplier of capital test equipment to the worldwide automotive and tire industries. Micro-Poise is currently seeking a Buyer for their Streetsboro, Ohio facility.
•Manage the supply chain to ensure quality and on time delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
•System analysis of MRP data to procure assigned commodity requirements for production materials.
•Ability to manage supply in an ever-changing environment, to include expediting, de-expediting and cancelling of purchase orders.
•Manage supply of materials to achieve inventory goals. Ability to negotiate stocking programs (VMI, Kanban, JIT) to reduce both lead time and inventory.
•Generate RFQ’s for competitive bidding of commodities to result in cost reduction
•Ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing and service levels.
•Interface with planning, sales, service, engineering, production, finance and other departments as required to achieve customer satisfaction.
•Responsible for the identification and development of suppliers to ensure supply continuity and optimization for quality, cost and delivery.
•Ability to manage engineering change effectivity with suppliers to eliminate excess and obsolete inventory.
•Familiarity with Lean Principles.
•Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
•Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
•One to three years of purchasing or supply chain management.
•Experience in a manufacturing or production assembly environment is helpful.
•College education BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management or Business.
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, business and negotiation skills are essential.
•Requires personable, self-motivated individual able to work in a team environment.
•Experience with MRP systems principles and operation is preferred.
