My client is a stockist, distributor and provider of innovative supply chain management solutions to the Aerospace industry supplying component and tooling solutions and distribution worldwide.

They are now seeking a Business Development Manager to be based in Surrey, who will be responsible for:

1. Identifying new sales leads & ensuring new business is efficiently passed to relevant sales team once engaged, whilst looking after both the company’s interests and those of the customers

2. Pitching products and/or services & regular follow up of significant opportunities (Live quotes/BD projects)

3. Maintaining fruitful relationships, contributing & actively support existing business relationships

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Researching organisations and individuals online (especially on social media) to identify new leads and potential new markets
  • Researching the needs of other companies and learning who makes decisions about purchasing
  • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations and sales displays
  • Contacting clients to inform them about new developments in the company’s products
  • Developing quotes and proposals
  • Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person
  • Developing sales goals for the team and ensuring they are met
  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills
  • Maintain healthy relationships with clients, from simple chats on the phone to lunches and events or conferences business development managers must be sure to keep their customers happy.
  • Business development professionals are obligated to write reports and provide feedback to upper management about what is and is not working.
  • Support the Internal Sales team, devising and implementing agreed strategies for meeting sales performance targets.  Consisting of follow-up quote activity, create new opportunities, negotiate & close of commercial agreements with clients.

               

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Knowledge of component market and managed products;
  • Knowledge of relevant contracts;
  • Good knowledge of main supply chain techniques;
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools aimed at optimising sales result with customer;
  • Marketing;
  • Knowledge of IT Systems;
  • Knowledge of regulatory restrictions (CAA/ITAR/MoD/DoD, etc)
  • Knowledge of logistics management techniques

Additional information:

  • Monday- Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Based in the South-West outskirts of London.
