The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing quality performance, requirements and strategy specific to our Boeing customer for UTC Aerospace Systems. The candidate will be responsible for driving Quality improvement plans and tailoring Quality plans to mitigate quality escape risks based on the SBU products, production risks and UTAS learnings. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Support Bu goal for zero overdue corrective actions to Customer Corrective Action Requests (CARs) by facilitating Clinic/QIM investigation process via coordination with Program Quality Managers. Drive/challenge corrective action activity to align with customer issues/processes. • Support BU goal of delivering 50% reduction in escapes/Parts per million defects by driving Zero Defect Plan™ process implementation and track progress for sites targeted by UTAS Quality leadership. • Drive UTAS site/BU 50% reduction in average Turnaround time for Customer returned material to <100 days. • Drive robust use of SAP Quality Issue Management by training/consulting on-site reps on system best practices and functionality, capturing feedback on system enhancements and driving system enhancements via coordination with Central Quality Digital Strategy team • Drive robust use of Zero Defect Plan™ Project tracking & reporting tools by consulting Business Unit/Operations Site Zero Defect Plan™ owners on tool use, data integrity, & functionality, managing outsourced resources to schedule & implement tool enhancements & break-fixes, and communicating tool enhancements/changes to all stakeholders.
Qualification: Understanding of Quality procedures, Quality management Systems, AS9100 and regulatory agency – requirements • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and external customers • Proficiency in Continuous Improvement / Six Sigma / ACE tools and methodologies • Experience with managing and working in a matrix organization • Strong leadership and good presentation skills • Self-motivated, high energy with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments • Effective team player with the ability to develop and sustain team commitment and problem solving skills • Strong oral and written communication skills • Ability to speak effectively to large groups of customers, executive teams and UTAS sites
Education: B.S. Degree in engineering or related technical area
