The Analyst - Japan Pricing & Agency Relations has two major responsibilities: 1) initiating and maintaining competitive pricing actions of assigned markets by working closely with cross-functional counterparts to ensure pricing objectives are met and contribute to maximizing RASM (revenue per available seat mile) and profitability for the Japan portfolio, and 2) making revenue-optimal decisions in maximizing revenue from group and package passengers from Japan to Honolulu. This position develops, analyzes and implements published and unpublished (off tariff) pricing strategies and is responsible for building sustainable partnerships with key agencies. Daily activities include continual evaluation of flight/market performance, monitoring of competitor actions and assessment of group requests and PNR adjustments for package passengers from travel agencies via emails/calls. The position requires the ability to quickly extract/analyze data, summarize results/conclusions, effectively present findings to leaders and stakeholders and strong interpersonal skills to develop win-win partnerships with agencies.

The Analyst position prefers a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or other quantitative major. Exceptional analytical ability and strong understanding of mathematical and economic concepts related to pricing and revenue management are essential. Familiarity with the Pacific network including Korean Joint-Venture and Japanese agency business is required. Experience in pricing, revenue management, sales, reservation or related field is strongly preferred. The position requires special attention to detail, analytical ability and strong oral/written communication skills in both Japanese and English, including the ability to quickly summarize large amounts of data into high-level trends and communicate complex analyses to audiences ranging from peers to executives. Must be able to work well with others in a time sensitive team environment. Ability to use common office and communications equipment as well as proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required; Hyperion is a plus. Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.
