ZENETEX specializes in management and technology support services for a variety of federal agencies and commercial organizations. We are reviewing resumes for General Aircraft Mechanics to support current and future vacancies at our FRCSW site at NAS Whidbey Island, WA. This position may remain posted even when there is not an active vacancy. Candidates meeting the requirements for vacant positions will be contacted. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Aircraft Mechanic will keep airplanes in safe working condition by servicing engines, engine components, and airframe components. Specific duties may include: * Troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems * Repairing, replacing, and rebuilding aircraft structures to include: wings and fuselage; functional components such as rigging and surface controls; plumbing and hydraulic units * Adjusting, repairing, or replacing electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories * Performing preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections * Identifying hazardous aircraft conditions to determine safety for flight * Analyzing required blueprints, drawings, work orders and sketches in order to troubleshoot, repair and install desired product or part * Detecting errors and correcting those errors through proper departmental channels * Scheduling items through the shop to maintain on-time deliveries * Checking all mechanical components prior to installation to prevent damage * Estimating hours and materials for scheduled jobs * Teaming with Engineering in recommending design enhancements and productivity improvements * Operating required ground support equipment Education and Experience Requirements * High school diploma or equivalent required * A minimum of two years of aircraft maintenance experience is required * Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions * Extensive knowledge of aircraft accessories, components and other hardware * Comprehensive knowledge of estimating hours and materials for completing projects * Complete knowledge of all related skill area machines, equipment and hand tools * Must complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty Security Clearance * This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
