Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the general ledger integration of payroll data including, but not limited to:

* Preparing/entering journal entries and third-party payments
* Preparing various account and bank reconciliations and resolving reconciling open items

* Reconciling quarterly and year-end tax filings to payments

* Maintain accounting for Hawaiian Airlines vacation liability including reconciliation with time and attendance balances

* Provide support for the executive stock compensation program, including maintaining the stock option summary records/reconciliation/reporting

* Serve as a subject matter expert for payroll accounting procedures including but not limited to:

* Implementing improvements in payroll accounting procedures
* Determining the need for new payroll accounts
* Maintaining the GL account mapping structure in the payroll system
* Advising payroll staff concerning the accounting treatment of complex transactions

* Addressing manager and budget analyst questions regarding payroll and labor accounts and variance analysis

* Support reporting related to Hawaiian Airlines labor expense using the PeopleSoft Financials

* Support audits of financial and regulatory reporting by Corporate Audit, external auditors, and government agencies

* Other general accounting duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* Minimum of 3 years experience in Accounting in a comparably sized service company

* General knowledge of accounting principals, payroll and payroll tax regulations

* Self-starter
* Organized, detail-oriented, accurate
* Able to prioritize, and handle multiple and changing priorities
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong analytical and quantitative skills
* Demonstrated competence with Excel and Word and other computer programs

Preferred Qualifications:

* Airline experience (2 years)
* Outsourced vendor management experience
* Experience with SOX requirements and/or internal controls
