Job Summary: Apply engineering principles to the design of noise control/prevention in aircraft Environmental Control systems (temperature control and distribution, bleed & service air systems, acoustical noise abatement/control) in Business Aviation products. Conduct design studies and simulations to support Environmental Control system design. Prepare documentation for comparison and selection of acoustical noise control solutions. Design and conduct development testing of acoustical noise control solutions.
Responsible for design and development of acoustical noise control solutions on the Environmental Control systems of Textron Aviation aircraft.
Responsible to conduct design studies and simulations of acoustical noise control solutions on the Environmental Control systems of Textron Aviation aircraft to predict system performance.
Prepare design and requirements documentation for aircraft acoustical noise control solutions. Responsible to coordinate with allied systems to coordinate meeting design requirements.
Prepare documentation reports for study/simulation results for aircraft systems.
Prepare specification documents to support acquisition of supplier parts.
Prepare development and certification test procedures and test reports for system parts and subsystems.
Conduct development testing and assume responsibility to coordinate with lab personnel to assure successful conduct of tests in a timely manner.
Assist in development of functional test documents for Environmental Control acoustical noise control solutions.
Support investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action of aircraft field issues relating to acoustical noise issues.
Active progress toward a B.S. or M.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering is required.
Preferred technical background is Aircraft Systems.
Be able to come up with new ideas, think out-of-the-box.
Must be able to coordinate, communicate and develop good working relationships with others.
Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills are required.
Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required; Microsoft Access and Project experience is desired.
Time management skills are required to manage simultaneous progress in multiple design paths toward a final design solution.
Coursework, research, or other practical experience in Environmental Control systems, and vibration and /or acoustics, as well as mechanical design. Structural modeling experience preferred.
