The primary function of the Maintenance Control Duty Engineer (MCC DE) is to provide technical support to WZZ flight Crew(s), monitoring and managing A320F fleet health, organize and assisting with the recovery of disruptions during day of operations. MCC DE closely works with reliability to identify and address recurring defects and to isolate rogue components, which may be affecting fleet operations. MCC DE works with Maintenance Planning and Material Logistics to ensure that defect rectification activity is planned effectively, that MEL(s) and defects are correctly categorized and resolved in a timely manner.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide flight crew with expertise guidance and advice in technical matters.
  • Understanding of MEL items
  • Manage Aircraft recovery.
  • Update Operations on a regular basis to ensure current information with disruption recovery status.
  • Ensure high level of communication with Line Stations ensuring timely notification of service disruption.
  • Advise DOM in written on particular Station capability in relation to License coverage, maintenance limitations, tooling and parts supply etc.
  • Monitor disposition of aircraft spares for AOG aircraft directly from the Logistics Expert to ensure defect rectification.
  • Co-ordinate maintenance (particularly during a diversion or potential diversion).
  • Communicate all Performance and Operational restrictions to OCC.
  • Assist in the planning and management of Aircraft Allocations (3-7 days).
  • Review & monitor Technical services KP(I)s (eg: Technical delay code allocation, MEL rate &deferrals).
  • Run and distribute MCC Daily report to maintain awareness of all open MEL's / defects to key personnel.
  • Monitor Technical Logs & defects to identify major customer discomfort items and ensure Passenger Handling awareness. Identify part numbers as required and consult Logistic expert for procurement.
  • Report operational, performance and   customer impact defects (eg.  seats  locked   out,   galley equipment and lavatory MEL’s etc).
  • Ensure all Cargo handling and restraint equipment MEL's are communicated to OCC.
  • Accurate reporting (inclusive of Maintenance hand-over).
  • Maintenance and controlling computer systems data accuracy (AMOS).
  • Monitor technical status of aircraft and systems (eg: AVIATAR).
  • Investigate and resolve recurring defects
  • Use and develop systems that can assist in the ongoing management of recurring defects.
  • Monitor Maintenance Standards and report suspected deficiency to DOM/Fleet Managers.
  • Assist with identification of potential Insurance & Warranty Claims.
  • Raising awareness material  where appropriate (eg: Read & Initial, Tech-log notices  and  manual amendments).
  • Assist Maintenance Planning with the control and estimation of Man-Hours based on experience.
  • Awareness of the latest technical/industry innovations in relation to aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure spares are provisioned to station when and where required in consultation with STP/AOG desk.
  • Represent Maintenance Operations interests in expansive company operational initiatives.
  • Provide input into the ongoing development of MCC.
  • Work closely with all customers to assist them achieving their desired outcomes.
  • Act in higher duties as required to support the operational requirements

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Aircraft maintenance Engineer or higher level
  • Hold an EASA B1 or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License on company type
  • Hold University degree qualification in an aviation stream
  • Minimum of 5 year experience in a Heavy or Line Maintenance environment on company aircraft as an AME or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within a team
  • Demonstrate knowledge of PART 145/ PART M regulatory framework
  • Understanding of AIRNAV, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Analytical ability using IT platforms (Excel)
  • Project management experience
