The bit about us |
AviationJobsearch was born in 1999. It was the UK's first Internet recruitment site, dedicated to the aviation industry. Within seven years we have firmly established ourselves as the best in our field. We are the world's largest jobsite for the aerospace and airline industry, advertising more jobs in this sector than any other site. Want to know more about advertising with us? Then download our Media Pack In 2001 Pertemps, the UK's largest independent recruitment company, invested in AviationJobsearch so that we could continue on our merry way along the path to world domination. Our association with them has enabled us to expand rapidly, and also means we've been able to introduce even more innovative recruitment services, for both our clients and job seekers – so everyone's a winner. Having reached the top of the aviation recruitment tree, we are continually coming up with new ideas, so we can keep on providing the excellent and unbeatable service our clients and job seekers have come to expect. Frankly, we like it up here, there's a really good view, and we want to stay. With this in mind, in 2005 we joined forces with The Friday Group, the UK's leading independent publisher. This means that not only do we have our world-class website, but now we have a rather swish publication too, AviationJobsearch magazine. We distribute 31,000 copies to over 450 locations every fortnight, inside and around airports. If you'd like to find out more download our Magazine Media Pack |

The bit for job seekers |
Instead of trawling through pages and pages of irrelevant jobs on generic websites, AviationJobsearch focuses purely on the aviation industry. So whether you want to head for the skies or keep your feet on terra firma, your search for a job will be quick and easy. |
| Allsorts (not the liquorice variety, which in a way, is a shame) |
Lots of major employers advertise with us. Not only that, there are lots of recruitment agencies who have their own dedicated areas within our site. This is great news for you, because it means there are even more jobs for you to look at. From pilots to cabin crew, engineers to cleaners, up there or down here – there's something for everyone. |
| Suits you sir |
When you register with us, which is free by the way, you can tell us the type of job you're looking for, and what country you'd like it to be in, and we'll send you Job Alerts. These free emails go direct to your inbox, and are a great way of keeping you constantly up to speed on any new jobs relevant to you, that are posted on our site. |
| Pip others to the post |
Where does that expression come from anyway? Because our site is updated all the time by employers and recruitment agencies, you may well be interested in a vacancy that literally only came online a minute before. So you're always one step ahead of the game – he who applies first laughs the loudest (or something like that). |
| Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy |
Looking for a job can be quite stressful, and we know that – we've been there too. So we've designed our site to make your job-hunting as quick and painless as possible, because we're nice like that. There's even a rather natty little feature that means you can apply for a position with just one click. Really, we're so good to you. |
| It works both ways |
A good way of getting noticed is to put yourself out there and let people come to you. By this we don't mean streak naked across a football pitch with your employment history covering your modesty. We're thinking more along the lines of registering your CV with us, so employers can contact you directly if they have a vacancy matching your preferences. Much less exhausting than all that running, and warmer too. |

The bit for employers and agencies |
AviationJobsearch.com was the UK's first Internet employment website dedicated entirely to the aviation industry, and is now the world leader in its field. So you've come to the best place to advertise your vacancies. |
| Hit the nail on the head |
Advertising on a generic recruitment site can be a bit of a hit and miss affair. With AJS however, everyone searching the site for a job is involved in the aviation industry. And we can go one better than that too. All the lovely potential staff that register with us request Job Alert emails. These daily emails keep job seekers up-to-date on new positions that meet their specific preferences. So your ads will be seen by folk who really, really want to work for you |
| Speed demon |
| There are few things more frustrating than placing an ad for a vacancy that you need to fill as soon as possible, but then having to wait several days before the ad is even published. Wouldn't it be great if you could place an advert, and have it seen by millions of relevant job seekers in a matter of minutes? Hang on a minute…that's exactly what we do! |
| Your flexible friend |
Thought that was a little piece of plastic in your wallet? Think again – it's us! We know that if you have a vacancy, you want to fill it as soon as possible. So, we have designed our site so that you can advertise as many positions you like, whenever you like. Using your password you can monitor your jobs, from any computer, at any time of the day or night, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year…you get the picture. |
| Cheap as chips |
Well, maybe not quite that cheap, but advertising online with AJS does cost substantially less than conventional newspaper advertising. And as you're only paying to reach the people you specifically want to reach, you're making every penny count. |
If you've done your homework and read the bit about us, then you'll know that our recent merger with The Friday Group means that we have a fortnightly magazine too. The ads in it are a random selection taken from the website, so chances are your ad could be printed free. If you like things to be a bit more definite then you can pay to place an ad in the paper, and as we're very nice people, we won't charge nearly so much as a normal in-paper recruitment ad would cost. |

A bit about our team |
John Ellis – Business Development Director John is in charge of sales and marketing, and he's spent pretty much his entire career in airline safety, recruitment and training, so he really knows his stuff. He's well known to the majority of the airlines and aviation companies who advertise with us. John spends much of his time on business trips, representing AJS and IRT around the world. He's forced to stay in swanky hotels, consume gourmet food and drink, and mingle with the aviation industry's elite. It's a nasty, nasty job, but someone has to do it, and he's very gracious about it. He has what should be officially recognised as the world's worst handwriting, but we are prepared to overlook that minor detail, as he seems to have done all right for himself in spite of it.
Tim Dawson – New Media Director
Tim looks after the day-to-day running of the company, heading up all the necessary operations required to make our websites run like clockwork. Like John he has worked in the aviation industry for years (although maybe not quite so many, youth is still on his side…just) so he has an excellent understanding of the way the industry works.
Matt Farrah – Group Sales Manager
Matt has worked his way from assistant online football editor to group sales manager of recruitment in one, slightly wonky, career path. He's worked on the Interweb since '96 (back in the day), and has been with IRT for four years. In his own words he's "enjoyed the highs, suffered the lows."
Matt Burney – National Account Manager
The following was written by Matt himself – the views expressed do not necessarily reflect the opinions of IRT, or for that matter, anyone else in the world. "Matt Burney...Living the dream, legend in his own lunchtime and all round top geezer. Sells for all the IRT sites and he's the best in the world at it. Legendary sportsman, rally and race driver, international maverick and sales supremo. Joined the company a year ago and frankly, turned its fortunes around, offering a level of professionalism and leadership only dreamed of by most organisations. "Matt is available as a freelance bon vivant and 'life and soul of the party' for hire, additionally any low level spying and top end stunt work will be considered. Contract killings by appointment only." Ed: There are no words
Stuart Fowler – Magazine Manager
If you phone up to speak to someone about your AJS magazine advertising, chances are it'll be Stuart you talk to. He came to IRT fresh-faced from uni, bringing his own inimitable brand of humour and charm with him, and now manages the AviationJobsearch publication. Stu is IRT's resident 'cheeky chappie'. He drives a girl's car, likes hip-hop and basketball, and has a 'fact of the day' calendar that he reads every morning. Trivia is his life. He is always gloriously tanned, which is odd considering the lack of sun for the better part of the year. David Dickinson, eat your heart out.
Gavin Pitts – Account Manager
Gav is Account Manager for AJS (and for one of our sister sites, TravelJobsearch), both online and for the magazine. He has a passion for anything fast enough to do something stupid in, and talks constantly about cars and superbikes. He's also a film connoisseur, and can recite large amounts of script dialogue on demand. He enjoys working out at his local gym, but is a long way from possessing the physique of a legendary sportsman like Matt Burney. Gav isn't one to lead the way in office banter, but is more than happy to partake in a game of table football with no physical force required. He has a deep and heartfelt passion for milkshakes that cannot be denied - if you felt like sending him a strawberry one as a little gift, that would make him smile. Bless his cottons.
Bryn Mabey – Marketing Manager
Bryn does the marketing for all the IRT sites. He has a background in national press (he reads a newspaper every morning), and joined IRT in June 2005. He works very hard and always eats interesting food at lunchtime. One of his favourite foods is Melanzani Parmigiana (we're not even sure what that is, that's how interesting it is). In his spare time he plays bass in an Indy band called Fuji Heavy (shameless plug). Bryn is a modest man, who doesn't like to talk about himself. But when we cruelly tortured him to comment, he blushed coyly and stated the following, "I tell hilarious jokes, I'm handsome bordering on beautiful, sharp witted and virile beyond belief." Like we said, modest to a fault.

Dan Smith – Online Services Administrator
Dan is the mortar holding the IRT bricks together. He quietly goes about his daily work doing the necessary admin chores, and helping with the day-to-day running of the sites, sales and marketing. Basically he stops the whole darned thing from falling apart. Dan is somewhat of an enigma. He rarely speaks, but when he does what he says is invariably humorous. He's very good at judging, almost to the second, when the team is starting to flag and requires caffeine fetching from the plasticky vending machine, and sometimes he even tempts us with little foody treats. We like that.

We currently train more than 10 000 UK cabin crew and pilots every year in various aspects of safety training.
