Passenger Service Agents Birmingham International Airport. Our client, a large Ground Handling Company, is looking for Passenger Service Agents (Check in staff) at Birmingham Airport, to cover the busy Summer period.
We are advertising these roles in preparation for start dates March 2012 and we will therefore start calling candidates ASAP.
Job Role
This is a varied Customer focused position where you will be assisting passengers every step of the way from their first arrival at Gatwick. You will help move queues along, answer a variety of queries and questions, check Passports, Visas and tickets, check-in, weigh and tag baggage. You are Customers' first contact with their chosen airline and your quality attitude and helpful approach will need to reflect this.
Working at the boarding gate assisting passengers with the boarding process. You may have to announce delays and departures and help late arriving passengers; accompany disabled passengers or children travelling alone.
At the boarding gate you will be reading passenger announcements, checking passports, visas and boarding passes, ensuring passengers enter the aircraft safely and on time, working within tight time constraints.

The successful candidates must be:

Organised and calm under pressure able to work in a hectic environment.
Confident, able to speak to large groups and make announcements.
Reliable with excellent timekeeping.
Adaptable.

Hours
This is a contract position to cover the busy summer period. Start dates will be in March 2012.
There will be a variety of contracts available including Full Time, Part Time, Night Shift, Weekend etc. All will involve working early mornings and late nights.
Earliest shifts could be as early as 0330am and latest finishes could be as late as 2230pm therefore flexibility is required.
At the end of the contract there may be opportunities to join the permanent staff payroll.
Salary and Benefits
Flat rate of £6.50 - £7.75 an hour.
