Job Description

We are please to advise that we are currently an experienced professional for the following position:

Safety Manager

This full time position is based in Luxembourg (relocation would be required) and is accountable for the day-to-day management of all functions related to the Safety Department.

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Safety Department and develop and implement the Safety Management System.

Responsibilities:
Continually develop and foster a Safety Reporting culture;
Develop and implement the Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with regulatory requirements;
Implement, and roll out the AIRS reporting system across the Company;
Monitor the AIRS database to ensure all:
- Parties are inputting data within a timely manner;
- Actions are tracked and closed within the due date.
- Investigations are completed within agreed time frames.
- Moderate and high risks are promptly brought to the attention of Senior Management.
Provide training to Strategic personnel in the use of the AIRS database.
Extract and analyse data, from various Strategic databases, for the purpose of producing safety reports and presentations.

Required:
Experience within a Quality and/or Safety role within the aviation industry involving the following would be highly regarded:
- Procedure and/or report writing;
- Data analysis;
- Auditing;
- Quality Management Systems or Safety Management Systems;
- Producing and/or presenting training packages;
Experience in achieving targets in line with departmental strategies;
Formal qualifications/training in any of the following would be highly regarded:
- Aviation regulations;
- Microsoft Office Products, such as Word, Excel, Project, Access and Outlook;
- Training and Assessment.
Excellent organisational skills;
Excellent written (report writing) and verbal communication skills;
Excellent knowledge of EU-OPS & EASA legislation;
Lead Auditor qualification;
Sound understanding of quality and safety management principles, typically acquired through formal training and practical experience;
Knowledge of human factor principles and integration of human factors into a safety management system;
Understanding the role of human performance in accident prevention and causation;
Familiarisation with different fleets, types of operations, routes, etc;
Development, implementation, operation and maintenance of a safety management system is highly regarded;
Crisis Management and Emergency Response Planning;
Specialised training or familiarisation in, e.g. Threat and Error Management (TEM), Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS) and Accident and Incident Investigation;
Ability to read, write and speak English.

Enthusiastic team players, comfortable with the challenges of aviation, who work to an exacting and precise standard, and have good written and verbal communication will be preferred.
