Job Description

Our customer is a leading name in the manufacture of business jets & general aviation.

They are seeking to appoint a Quality Assurance Engineer to be based at their operation in the North West region of the UK.

Daily activities will focus on special process for a supplier QA function; you will be working day shifts.

Purpose

The primary function of this position is the continued development of the assurance of all special processes undertaken by company approved suppliers whilst ensuring compliance with both Federal Regulations and Company Policies and Procedures.
  

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking external auditing as part of HBC's Supplier Quality Assurance UK team, with particular emphasis upon

High risk Suppliers and Manufacturing Processes.

  • Undertaking rigorous non-conformance investigation/true root cause analysis and the compilation of associated

formal reports and KPIs

  • Undertaking routine Supplier risk assessments and reviews
  • Assist in the development and internal audit of ESCO processes to ensure best practice and compliance to HBC

requirements

  • Assist in the completion of Last Article/First ArticleInspection Reports
  • Acting and liaising with HBC on European regulatory and environmental legislation compliance

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a Graduate, or equivalent, in Aerospace Engineering
  • Have Post Graduation experience of Quality Assurance, Aerospace Manufacturing, Materials and Processes
  • Have working knowledge of AS9100, and its implementation
  • Be familiar with auditing techniques, non-conformance investigations and initialising effective corrective action
  • Be fully computer literate, including experience of working with relational MS Access databases
  • Be willing to travel extensively throughout the World, possibly at relatively short notice

  

Desired Qualities (in addition to required)

B.S. Metallurgy, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering

5 years experience minimum as an aerospace production quality assurance engineer, working in direct support of aircraft or aircraft component or assembly manufacturing operations, at least 2 of which involved part- or full-time onsite audit responsibilities (either internal or external audits)

Working knowledge of aerospace composites materials and processes

Working knowledge of aerospace metal finishing, heat treatment, non-destructive inspection, welding/brazing, and surface enhancement operations

Familiarity with chemical analysis and mechanical strength testing methods and equipment/instrumentation

Familiarity with relational database software.
