Safety, Risk & Reporting Lead

As the Safety, Risk & Reporting lead, yuor focus will be the development and maintenance of an aviation safety risk management framework. You will create, own & be responsible for the policies and procedures within Engineering & Aviation ervices (EAS) that comply with Cobham Aviation Services (CAvs) and Regulatory requirements and is aligned to industry best practice.

As the Safety, Risk & Reporting Lead, your key responsibilities will include:

  •  Development and maintenance of the EAS Aviation Safety Management Manual.
  • Ensuring that a safety management promotion campaign is established in EAS
  • Facilitating aviation safety risk management across EAS.
  • Ensuring that aviation safety risk management training is developed and implemented across EAS.
  • Being the champion of change and building confidence in proactive risk management approaches related to all aviation safety activities across EAS.
  • Ensuring a consistent approach to change management and the management of safety risks across EAS.
  • Managing the safety database and safety risk register and producing monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Ensuring that data is provided to the CAvS Safety Risk and Environment Department to allow the publication of up-to-date Board Safety Sub-Committee and Monthly Safety Executive reporting packs.
  • Oversight of the EAS Change Management and Safety Risk Registers.
  • Development and maintenance of the EAS Safety Review Meeting (SRM) and Safety Action Group (SAG) reporting packs.
  • Building effective relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Participation in the EAS Safety Review Meetings.
  • Supporting the EAS Safety Action Groups.
  • Deputising for the Director of Safety, Risk and Environment during absence.
  • Develop and maintain a budget for the EAS Aviation Safety Management.
  • When required, carry out aviation safety incident investigations, audits or training.

 As the Safety, Risk & Reporting Lead, your Qualifications and experience will ideally include

  •   Post-graduate qualifications (or equivalent qualifications and experience) in safety and risk management with proven experience in aviation safety management systems (SMS).
  • Hold or be able to undertake training to achieve accreditation as an Aircraft Accident / Incident Investigator.
  • Hold or be able to hold accreditation as a Lead Auditor.
  • Sound working knowledge of ICAO guidance on SMS and current EASA regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral (including presentation) and written.
  • Proficiency in the use of Windows based software, in particular spreadsheet and database applications.
