Job Description
Purpose of the Job
To assist in delivering major programmes and supporting ongoing production for the Structures business.
Organisational Reporting
This role reports directly to Certification Manager for the Structures Business
Network & Relationships
Internal:
- § Work with Project Management and Design Organisations
- § Support departments that interface with certification; sales, marketing, operations, quality, aftermarket.
- § Develop relationship with other company technical/management counterparts
External:
- § Develop relationship with customer technical counterparts
Key Responsibilities
- § Compressible and incompressible fluid systems encompassing, Cooling, Ventilation & Extraction Verification of Design
- § Environmental and Endurance testing and analysis (FMEA, HASS)
- § Writing and approving test plans for the above requirements
- § Work with the design team, procurement and Programme Management during product development to ensure all aspects are considered from the outset.
- § Support shop floor activities
- § Develop the systems and procedures within the department to create a Lean' environment supporting the catalogue approach and minimal lead-time for New Product introduction
- § Ensure innovation is the forefront of all engineering solutions
Hours of Work
- § Standard Staff Hours - Semi Flexible
Core hours Monday to Thursday, 09.00 to 16.30.
Core hours Fridays, 09.00 to 12.30
Additional 7.5 flexible hours to be worked each week
Flexible hours can be worked Monday to Wednesday between
07.30 to 09.00
16.30 to 18.00
Flexible hours can be worked on Thursday between
07.30 to 09.00
16.30 to 19.00
Flexible hours can be worked on Friday between
07.30 and 09.00
12.30 and 14.00
Holiday Entitlement
25 days per annum plus bank holidays
Travel %
0 - 20% dependant upon business needs
Educational Requirements
- § The suitable applicant will posses a relevant engineering degree
Knowledge / Experience
- § The suitable applicant will possess an engineering background in aircraft products will have been a CVE (or equivalent) with a design organization
- § Experience of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) highly desirable.
- § Experience in Test verification highly desirable.
- § Familiarity with Boeing and Airbus working practices is essential
- § Fluid flow simulation, NXflow or Flow master an advantage

- § Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all internal departments.
