Parc Aviation on behalf of our client is seeking an experienced commercial aviation Ground Operations Manager.
The Ground Operations Manager be will responsible for the procurement, management and performance of all aspects of the ground operations activities required by the company. This includes, but is not limited to the management of the stations in the network including Airport Authorities, Govt. Agencies (Customs & Immigration), Ground Handling Agencies with responsibility for operational performance, costs and budget and service level delivery consistent with the airline's commercial objectives and brand values.
The responsibilities of this role; would require the successful professional to have previous management experience in:
- Sourcing, negotiating and managing third party ground handling agreements to provide appropriate operational services for the schedule and operation. (SGHA's, SLA's, etc.)
- Delivery of KPI's relating to safety, performance and cost.
- Development, maintenance and ownership of Ground Handling Manual (AHM) and updating of data and dissemination of updated information.
- Management of immigration and similar regulatory control issues network-wide and reduction in associated costs to the Company.
- Development and ownership of the Ground Operations budget in line with LCC operations.
- Management and continuous improvement in ancillary revenue network-wide (excess baggage, baggage charging etc).
- Development, implementation and training of Ground personnel to ensure consistent delivery of our client's ground handling model both landside and airside.
- Ensuring competent, appropriate and consistent level of customer service at all stations.
- Project Management of new company initiatives as they affect Ground Operations.
- Scoping and assessing new stations and bases and integrating these into the network ensuring they are safe, secure and fully compliant with regulatory and Company requirements.
- Overseeing and delivering, in conjunction with the Directors of Quality & Safety, the audit program for the Company.
- Investigating all safety events thoroughly and ensuring that corrective and preventative measures are defined and implemented every time without fail.
- Liaising with Operations, Maintenance, Flight Crew and scheduling to ensure a joint approach for all locations to ensure the best commercial and operational proposition for the Company.
The minimum qualifications / experience considered for this position are:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in an operational management position with exposure to ground operations and emphasis on performance management of third party suppliers.
- Experience with an established LCC carrier.
- Experience in procurement, negotiation and contracting is essential.
- Highly motivated with proven track record of hard work, responsibility and accountability.
- Strong presentation, influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a multi-cultural, international organization an advantage.
- Flexibility to travel frequently and at short notice away from Head Office.
