Job Description

Technician

A fantastic opportunity to join a growing and award winning company that offers great benefits.

Our Client is seeking to support their talented team of development engineers who work on the next generation of high performance test and measurement equipment, and automotive diagnostic products.

The Company has progressively grown over the last 20 years and requires a technician to work alongside their development team.

Skills and experience
To provide technical support to the development team with their day to day activities, including:
Building prototypes including soldering of fine pitch surface mounted components
Mechanical assembly including use of the workshop power tools to make mechanical parts
Sourcing and collating parts for prototypes, including talking to suppliers and manufacturers to obtain samples
Assisting with product testing including function, environmental, EMC and safety approvals, hardware and software evaluation of Test & Measurement and Automotive products
Assisting with the generation of documentation for product release to manufacturing
Assisting with new product research and feasibility work
Investigating problems with released products including component obsolescence
Assist with departmental IT support

Useful additional skills
Keeping stock of the development components and consumables
Maintaining development equipment including PAT testing and organising repair and calibration
Provide information and support to other departments within the Company
Help improve the overall quality of the Companys products
To help improve the overall wellbeing and working environment within the department
Any other reasonable duties as required

Knowledge and skills required for effective performance
Appropriate experience and or qualifications (Degree, HND, HNC)
Team player with the ability to self manage where appropriate
Attention to detail and quality
Good organisation, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
Both commercially and technically skilled; numerate and articulate
