Cost Engineer
There is an opportunity for a qualified engineer to further develop a career within the UK working closely with the UK Engineering teams.
As part of a trans-national, Aviation, costing team you will be focusing on Non Recurring costing activities within Engineering across all current and future programmes.
You will be expected to use your personal experience to estimate Non Recurring cost and will also be responsible for the analysis of previously captured costing data and how those metrics can be applied in future costing activities.
Training will be given to the successful candidate in a broad range of practical costing, financial and in parallel on-the-job training.
Task
The jobholder will be responsible for the following key activities:
To work closely with UK Engineering teams (core engineering and future projects) to establish the best quality technical inputs to support any costing activities.
Working as part of a transnational costing team producing Engineering Non Recurring estimates for all new Aircraft and Aircraft variants.
Provide Non Recurring cost estimates for all major changes linked to the programme change process to include weight saving, design to cost, supplier claims, etc.
Using existing and developing new costing databases to generate Engineering metrics for top down and bottom up estimating tasks and the development of subsequent cost models.
To work closely with UK Engineering in the generation and maintenance of both detailed and top level Engineering cost metrics.
As part of a transnational team you will be responsible for the investigation and creation of Non Recurring technical/costing methods and references.
Essential
Experienced Aeronautical Engineer (Structures/Systems etc)
Good engineering degree
Good/detailed understanding of Aircraft Engineering processes.
Candidates will hold a technical qualification and have proven post qualification experience of working within the Aircraft Industry
The successful candidates will demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skill and be able to influence at all levels
Detailed understanding of wing designs or systems an advantage.
Good interpersonal skills
Good team working abilities
Good IT skills
Desirable but not essential Previous Aerospace Non Recurring Engineering costing experience
Language skills:
Excellent English
French or German meeting level
