Stress Engineer/ Aerospace Industry/Boeing experience essential/ Seattle, USA/ 12 month Contract
My client is a well respected and known market leader within the aerospace arena. Due to ongoing growth, they are currently looking for Stress Engineers to undertake 12 months contracts to be based out of their state of the art operations in Seattle, USA.
The role is seeking knowledge of the following:
Responsible for the conceptual design of structural components in metal or composites for aircraft and helicopters
Work in a multidisciplinary team in which design engineers, cost engineers, tooling engineers,manufacturing engineers, production staff and buyers are all represented
Lead the stress engineering team
Calculate the strength, rigidity and fatigue characteristics of the design using advanced calculation methods such as the finite elements method (FEM)
Monitor the designs from the conceptual stage all the way to the final detail design
Approve drawings for which the components have been calculated by the stress engineers in your team
Work on projects at several Fokker / customer locations worldwide
Requirements
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
10+ years experience
Capable of leading a team of 8 stress engineers
Knowledge of calculation methods and CAE / FEM techniques using software like Nastran and Patran
Detailed knowledge of Composite analysis experience is a must (verifiable)
General knowledge of Metal analysis both static and fatigue preferred
Willing to work in Seattle for at least 1 year
Fluent in English
