Job Description

A Stress Engineer is required to work for one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of satellite systems, based in Stevenage.

My client is looking for someone who can do both detailed stress analysis (using hand calculations) and FE modelling, with good metallic lightweight structure experience. The work is on spacecraft platform structure.


Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
MSC NASTRAN.
Desirable: MathCAD, FEMAP

Previous Experience
Essential: demonstrable experience in Aerospace particularly lightweight metallic structures engineering / detailed stress. Experience of detailed stress analysis via FE Modelling and Hand Calcs
Desirable: Experience of Composites. Previous aerospace design experience
