Job Description
An exciting and fulfilling opportunity has arisen for an experienced Stress Engineer to work in a world-class organisation with like-minded professionals who contribute to the building of outstanding aircraft for the 21st Century.
Skills and Experience:
A professional Stress Engineer with an Aerospace, Aeronautical or general engineering degree
Considerable experience in the aerospace industry working on composite or metallic components or structures.
Possessing a good working knowledge, experience and application of classical stress engineering methods
Exposure to processes across the product lifecycle from concept through to production would be an advantage.
This will include high levels of competency in areas such as: buckling, open-hole analysis, actuation, finite element methodology, composites, cell theory, failure criteria, sensitivity and stress concentrations
In-depth knowledge of stress analysis techniques
Good knowledge of airworthiness requirements
Capability of verifying the structural design philosophy by hand calculations and have good working knowledge of available bespoke software techniques, including NASTRAN, PATRAN, Hypermesh, Hyperworks, MathCAD and Visual Basic.
Practically, you'll be familiar with and proficient in converting test outcomes into clear and concise summaries for senior engineers.
