An exciting opportunity has become available to work for one of the worlds leading aerospace defence organisations.
I am looking for a Pipe Stress Engineer Specialist to work a 6 month contract. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in the detailed design and analysis of piping systems, preferably within the nuclear industry.
Other distinct advantages would be:-
* MUST have a thorough working knowledge of
* ASME III Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Division
* Class 1, Class 2 & 3 piping.
* Experience in the use of French nuclear pressure vessel design code RCC-M would be advantageous.
* Experience of proposal/bidding for large multi-discipline capital programmes would be advantageous
* A working knowledge of the following non-nuclear piping codes is expected: B31.1 and BSEN13480.
Experience in detailed design and analyses of piping systems should include:
* Authoring design reports and stress reports,
* Substantiating or verifying design or stress reports,
* Pipe stress calculations using commercial computer codes (ADLPipe, PipeStress, PSA5, etc)
* Hand calculations and Design-by-Rule formulae,
* Seismic, dynamic (waterhammer, relief valve, bursting disk, flow induced vibration) and fatigue design/analyses of piping systems.
* Design by Analysis (FEA) and/or hand calculations for piping components, piping supports and attachments.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
* Materials and components selection
* Heat treatment techniques
* Manufacturing techniques for piping systems
* Materials testing
* Authoring mechanical design specifications
* Inspection techniques such as radiography, NDT or NDE
* Welding procedures or specifications
* Legislation applicable to the design of nuclear and non-nuclear pressure vessels
