Our client is currently looking for Aircraft Documentation Control Engineers to work on contract at their offices in Yeovil.
As an Aircraft Documentation Control Engineer you must provide the Aircraft Operations with a significant level of specialised skills, knowledge and advice. Be able to compile, manufacture, produce, review update and deliver all relevant aircraft build documentation, ensuring that is accurately and correctly recorded to reflect the aircraft build standard, in either hard copy or in the electronic format currently being used by the customer. Your primary expertise will be in the use of the GOLDesp (previously; Work Recording and Asset Management - WRAM) system, specifically in Boundary Cell activities.
You will apply this expertise to ensure the applicable aircraft electronic data is created for each applicable aircraft, are accurate, up to date and reflect the build standard of the aircraft.
You will deploy and apply your knowledge to support and reinforce your department's efforts in effecting aircraft build records. You will continue to work with others to deploy your specialised skills to develop, policy, processes, procedures and tools that satisfy both business and customer requirements and needs. You will also provide support to others within the organisation.
POSITIONAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Generate GOLDesp electronic data to create aircraft build records (Boundary Cell activity) for aircraft.
Maintain and update electronic formats for aircraft on the system.
Create, compile, approve and maintain all aspects of Aircraft Servicing Forms, airframe and component log cards for production, development and R&O aircraft ensuring all activities are accurately and correctly recorded, in either hard copy or customer's electronic format.
Review current information and forecast correctly all servicing and lifed components.
Review and present aircraft documentation/electronic format to the customer in accordance with the business needs.
Produce and provide the aircraft line managers with short and long term servicing, and maintenance forecast.
Audit and report the standard of aircraft documentation on receipt or dispatch of an aircraft to ensure conformance with contractual and regulatory requirements, ensuring discrepancies are corrected and/or reported to the relevant personnel, in either hard or electronic format.
Interfacing with the Integrated Projects Teams in respect to documentation, lifed components and servicing issues that arise from up-issues of the Compound Interactive Electronic Technical Publications and Technical Instructions.
Provide and update customer aircraft build records and publications interfacing with other functional areas to ensure it remains at the latest issue.
Provide guidance and expertise to other functional areas on matters pertaining to aircraft build records.
Develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers in respect to aircraft build records.
Investigate report and correct all customer complaints/issues associated with aircraft build records.
Maintain and implement effective documentation procedures in support of the aircraft build process.
Obtain and distribute information as requested from internal and external customers in respect to archived data.
Direct the aircraft line managers in the use and interpretation of aircraft documentation and Technical Instructions.
Support the aircraft documentation process in both hard copy and electronic format, with a view to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing improvement initiative
Collection and correlation of aircraft build records prior to archiving.
Management of tasks, as directed by your manager, working with other areas to resolve issues associated with aircraft documentation in any format.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
You should have served a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship in the Aerospace Industry or Armed Forces and have proven experience in manufacture, installation and maintenance activity on rotorcraft components, assemblies or systems.
A comprehensive knowledge and experience of aircraft documentation including the Integrated Electronic Technical Publications, GOLDesp; Work Recording and Asset Management (WRAM) specifically Boundary Cell activity.
Conversant with the construction/compilation of the Aircraft Servicing Form and Log cards.
A comprehensive knowledge of aircraft publications and drawing systems.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with both internal and external customers.
Self-motivated but also has the ability to work as a team member.
Computer literacy including competence in Microsoft Office software, presentation packages and SAP.
