Consultant in Mechanical Engineering
Our Client is looking for clever, hardworking, innovative and hands-on scientists and engineers with a high degree of commercial awareness to contribute to the continued growth and success of theri business. The success of the business depends on flexible and committed staff prepared to ensure that customers' targets are met - development timescales are short, the specifications demanding, and the projects often require international travel.
The Science and Systems Group is a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers developing leading edge technologies such as microfluidics, optics, micro-mechanical devices and products such as medical diagnostics, fuel cells, displays, sensors, for a range of markets from healthcare to consumer products.
We are seeking a highly skilled consultant with excellent mechanical engineering skills to lead demanding development projects and build new business to join the team.
The successful candidate will have first class technical and communication skills, experience at leading large multidisciplinary projects and an interest in and aptitude for developing business.
Essential
Mechanical engineer with a 1st or 2.1 degree from leading institute.
Excellent A level grades
Track record of commercialising complex mechanical systems or technology in an industrial setting and delivering technology-based projects against challenging timelines and product requirements.
Excellent market awareness and capability to develop new market opportunities for technology.
Very good communication and team skills including leading multi-disciplinary science and engineering teams.
The Role
Make significant contribution to technically demanding technology and product development projects in a technical and project management capacity.
Take the lead in client communications and management.
Take responsibility for best in class project delivery.
Identify and pursue opportunities to develop new business through individual and team creativity and building relationships with international clients.
