A fantastic opportunity has arisen working for a prestigious aerospace Company based in Hampshire. The requirement is for an Aerostructures Program Management Office, Director. This role is will be a high profile position and is being put in place to challenge all of the major programs within the business.
Role Summary/Purpose : The Program Operations Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Essential Responsibilities : -Provide strategic leadership relative to PM Best Practice and ensure the consistent development, implementation, and management of programs utilizing standard practices, policies, procedures and toolsets.
-Champion Operational and Lifecycle management (LCM) process and rhythm, supporting program planning and execution, as well as supporting talent development.
-Lead the communication rhythm within the business.
-Continue to develop and improve program management tools, process, and procedures to support ongoing operations.
-Demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives
-Drive programs to achieve critical milestones through the lifecycle of assigned programs
-Support the development/enhancement of transactional processes to gain organizational efficiency
-Support driving cost reductions from idea generation through final implementation
-Provide support interface between centers of excellence and the project
Qualifications/Requirements : - Bachelors degree or similar level of knowledge and experience
- Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing, services, or sourcing position.
- Proven experience in customer interface and negotiations
Desired Characteristics : -Classical Program Management training (PMP, PRINCE@, Scrum Master, etc)
-Prior experience with Lifecycle Management tollgates and principles
-Aviation industry experience
-Defense industry experience
-Ability to develop and communicate program issues effectively at all organizational levels
-Ability to lead and influence in a matrix environment
-Bachelors degree in Engineering and/or MBA is preferred
-Detailed knowledge of cost system, production planning/control, quality systems, and sourcing functions
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
-Six Sigma training is preferred
-Prior experience with program and scheduling tools is preferred
