An opportunity exists for a Project Manager to join our Aerospace / Automotive client and manage resources across a number of functions
The Project Manager is accountable for managing projects on a day-today basis as well as:
- Work with the Business Unit Leader to identify the project team
- Take personal responsibility for successful delivery of the contracted deliverables for the contracted terms
- Work closely with the Sales functions to ensure the commitments can be met within the agreed resource allocation, and authorising the issue of the formal quotation
- Define the project accountabilities, work scope and targets for each team member
- Monitor and manage the project progress
- Monitor and manage the risk opportunities
- Manage the resolution of project issues
- Manage the scope of the project and control changes
- Forecast likely business benefits
- Deliver the project deliverables on time, on budget, at agreed quality
- Communicate with stakeholders
- Produce and present discounted cashflows for project proposals
- Manage the closure of the project
The Project Manager will work with the Business Unit Leader to continuously review and refine project management processes and tools utilised to achieve these objectives.
Technical knowledge of the subject matter (e.g. engine design/development, manufacturing processes etc.) is advantageous but the emphasis of the Project Manager's role is on what is done, not how.
